Exploring our beautiful surroundings
Our immersive outdoors learning and wellbeing initiative – the aptly titled FaB (Forest and Beach) School – runs weekly for all Prep School pupils.
With its origins in the Danish approach to education, which highlights the importance of children having contact with nature from an early age, FaB School is incorporated in the Prep school curriculum, enhancing subjects such as geography, maths and science with hands-on exploration. Designed to be a thoroughly inspirational process, it offers pupils opportunities to develop confidence and practical skills, nurturing independent, curious learners ready to explore their own interests and ideas.
The school’s easy proximity to both the coast and the countryside makes our FaB School truly unique. Students’ imaginations are captivated by learning in enriching local locations, including rocky coastline (to study rock formation in cliffs), country parks (to build hedgehog homes), islands (to learn about tides and coastal safety) and sandy coastline (to learn about isopods and rockpools).
