International Applications

Step 1: Simply complete the Online Application Form

Step 2: Sit our online entrance exams

• English (60 minutes)
• Maths (60 minutes)
• Aptitude Testing (45 minutes)

Step 3: Interview, via Zoom with our Principal.

We aim to turn around admission decisions within 48 hours post-interview. Places are awarded on a rolling basis, early application is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Limited partial academic scholarships are available for early applicants and represent up to a 35% discount in fees.

Applicants will be required to sit an additional scholarship paper and must state their intention to apply for a scholarship prior to starting the application process.

You do not require an IELTS score to apply for Westbourne. Your English is tested as part of the application process and an offer made for a place at Westbourne will take into account your English proficiency.

Upon joining, ESL support for all pupils where English is an additional language is available, subject to individual need.

Our specialist teachers work with pupils to support their learning to ensure they can fully access the curriculum.

For direct entry into Year 12 for the International Baccalaureate Diploma a high level of English fluency is required, both written and spoken. Students who do not possess the necessary English skills for Year 12 entry are recommended the Pre-IB Programme to prepare them fully to access the IB Diploma curriculum.

Yes.

• Westbourne is a Child Student Visa sponsor, as such all students studying at Westbourne are required to provide documentation on their nationality as part of their application.
• All students applying from the EU for courses in the UK longer than 6 months also need to apply for a Child Student Visa.
• As a Child Student/Student Visa sponsor, our team will guide you through the visa process once the offer of a place at Westbourne has been accepted at Westbourne.

Exceptions

• EU students joining for a short stay immersion course less than 6 months in length may be exempt. Our team will advise you accordingly.

Please note

• You can not apply for a Child Student Visa until 3 -6  months before joining Westbourne.
• You will be issued with a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) only once all criteria have been met for the Child Student/Student Visa.

Yes – all international students are required to have a UK based guardian.

• However at Westbourne the school acts as guardian, saving parents considerable additional costs each year.
• Students can also stay in the boarding house during half term breaks at no additional charge.
• There are no EXEAT weekends, therefore students do not need to vacate their rooms midway through the term.

No.

• As part of the application process, English, as a second language is tested by the school.

Exception

• Any student over the age of 18 at the time of applying for their visa will be applying for a Student Visa, rather than a Child Student Visa. IELTS is required for a Student Visa application.

We offer two choices:

• Boarding House – full-time, fully supervised residence for students aged 12+

• Homestay – with approved local host families, available for students 16+

For day students under 12, we also support accompanying parent visa applications.

• Fees include: Tuition, accommodation, all meals, guardianship, and visa sponsorship.
• Fees may be paid annually in advance or termly (due 15 May, 15 September, 15 January).
