The gold standard in education

For over a decade, every one of our School Sixth Formers has followed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, with its ethos firmly embedded throughout the school. This global qualification is renowned for its academic rigour and stretch, and for producing articulate, well-rounded students who are passionate about inspiring positive change in the world.

And our results speak for themselves, with 90% of our IB Diploma students graduating to Russell Group universities or their global equivalents.

From September 2025, we are pleased to be launching a suite of distinguished A Level subjects to sit alongside the IB, offering students even more choice ahead of their road to university. By offering two elite pathways, we seek to empower students to define their own futures. While the IB offers six subjects for those seeking both breadth and depth, A Levels will allow students to specialise in a focused selection of three or more. All with the same world-class teaching, same global vision, and the same personalised support.

The Sixth Form experience at Westbourne School enables students to further their self-confidence, to learn to take initiative and to be proactive and self-determining. They develop social and cultural awareness and interpersonal skills to become future leaders in their chosen field.

We view Sixth Form as the opportunity for our students to grow in independence and responsibility within the safe, day and boarding school environment provided. There are opportunities to make a significant difference to both the local area and the global community, and students are busy both inside and outside the classroom.
