Prep: Extracurricular Enrichment
A range of exciting opportunities
We are pleased to offer a broad and challenging range of extracurricular pursuits for our students to enrich and extend key competencies learned in the classroom – including independence, resilience and confidence – and to offer them regular opportunities to try something completely new.
Clubs After School (CAS)
Westbourne Prep offers an exhilarating and regularly updated schedule of co-curricular activities that run for 10-week blocks after school. Clubs are available on four days during the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday). These clubs are not compulsory. Some clubs have a limit on how many can participate so we operate a first-come-first-served booking policy.
End times for clubs vary depending on the activity and will be communicated in advance when sending out booking details. If you require your child to stay later than the end time of their club, we are also pleased to offer After School Provision until 6pm Mon-Fri at a nominal charge.
On Fridays, in place of clubs we run an all Prep School Assembly 3.30pm – 4pm, to which all parents are warmly invited. Dismissal on Fridays is directly from assembly at 4pm. Should your child be booked in for After School Provision, they will go back to the Prep School for collection up until 6pm.
LAMDA & Music Lessons
We encourage all pupils to develop their own distinctive voice through performance. As well as hosting concerts throughout the year, Prep School students can also hone their drama skills through LAMDA-affiliated classes.
Children can also choose to take lessons in a wide range of instruments, including violin, cello, sax, guitar, harp, piano and singing.

Costs:
We offer an initial period of half a term, then we ask that your child signs up to their chosen instrument for one term at a time.
Whilst lessons are managed by the school, payment is made directly, upon receipt of invoice, to the music teacher who works independently. Refunds are not available in the case of pupil illness or absence.
