Because our 3 year olds sit within the wider Prep School children avoid the sudden leap into ‘big school’
Building early familiarity with teachers, routines and the friends that shape Reception life. Children grow in confidence with strong literacy, numeracy and social skills long before their first official day.
To support families in the early years of education we also offer a ‘stepping up to school’ offer, with a 50% discount in fees during Reception and Year 1 for students who join our preschool full-time prior to starting Reception.

What age does my child need to be to attend Westbourne?
We are pleased to welcome curious boys and girls from 3 years old.
Our nurturing team is on-hand to ensure they receive the care and attention required to settle in quickly.

What times do your sessions run?
We operate within normal school hours and term dates, with the option for breakfast club, after school care and holiday provision.

What is the Pre-School curriculum?
PreSchool children benefit from tapping into an array of expertise from our inspiring staff and specialist teachers, enjoying a range of stimulating activities and individual one-on-one sessions.
The development of early academic skills, self-esteem and self-confidence are at the heart of the curriculum. Every child benefits from a personalised learning plan, which tracks and nurtures core literacy, numeracy and communication skills, giving them the very best head-start and confidence boost.
We place great importance on listening to every child, championing every voice. By observing the children as they explore the world around them, we take our cues from them – whether it’s finding an insect in the garden and wanting to find out more, or asking questions about the universe!
How do I find out more?
The best way to understand if Westbourne is right for your child is to visit us! We offer private visits year-round, at a time to suit your schedule.
We appreciate that choosing a Pre School for your child is an enormous decision, so we welcome you to ask as many questions as possible during your visit.
Your child will also be offered a Taster Session or two before making that important decision.

Is there a waiting list?
We recommend registering your interest at least 6 months to 1 year in advance in order to guarantee your child’s place.
What is your Stepping Up to School package?
We offer 50% discount on Reception and Year 1 fees for children who are full time in PreSchool before they join the main Prep School.
If the child already has a sibling in the main school this discount continues through to Year 2.
Thereafter our standard sibling discounts apply (25% – second child, 50% – third child, 100% – fourth child).
Means tested bursaries are available from Year 1.
What are the costs
Parents can currently enjoy either:
- Full-time contract for term time only
- Daily pre-school throughout the term
- 08.30-4.30 daily hours
- optional breakfast/afterschool clubs
- £3550 per term
- Sessions contract, year round
- £80 per day/£48 per half day
- 2 days/4 half day minimum per week
