We are delighted that Westbourne has secured the top position in the Sunday Times Parent Power Guide, a result that reconfirms our status as one of the UK’s highest performing schools and a leader in academic innovation across three continents.
Named Independent Secondary School of the Year in Wales 2026, this accolade marks a decisive moment in our school’s mission to deliver world-class, globally connected education.
This year’s award recognises our exceptional performance across every measure – including GCSE and Sixth Form results – as well as the school’s wider strengths, from a pioneering Sixth Form and IB pathway, to our truly global education model, exceptional pastoral care and a future-focused approach to student development.
2025 was a landmark academic year for Westbourne, with students attaining the highest GCSE grades in our school’s history: 91% A*-B, with almost 70% achieving 9 or more A*-A grades. Sixth Form results were similarly excellent, with 95% attaining the very top grades, A*-B.
This Sunday Times accolade follows Westbourne being ranked #1 in the UK for Education Technology at the 2025 Independent Schools of the Year Awards; and #1 for Academic Results in the 2025 Best Schools league tables by ib-schools, in the co-ed boarding category.
